About the directory
A plain register of UK decking installers, town by town, ordered by stated rules and checked against each firm's own website.
What it is for
A deck is a few thousand pounds of someone else's workmanship, and the people who fit them are mostly small landscapers and joiners with a van and a website. The marketplaces list everyone who pays; the search results mix board sellers, national chains and advice pages. This site does one thing: it lists real firms that fit decking, town by town, shows what we checked about each one, and sends you to the firm's own website.
Who runs it
Decking Directory (a geographic address will be published here shortly). Email office@deckingdirectory.co.uk. The directory covers 100 towns and 72 firms at the time of writing.
How it is paid for
By firms, never by you. Listings are free. A listed firm can pay for a sponsored position in its town, and anything sponsored is marked as such. The directory holds no customer details: you contact firms on their own websites.
What we check
Each week an automated check visits every listed firm's website and records whether it answered, whether its own pages describe a decking service and name composite boards, which of our towns it mentions, and any installer scheme or trade body it claims. A scheme is marked as confirmed only when we have checked the scheme's public register. The full method.
What we do not do
We do not fit decking, we do not take a cut of any job, we publish no reviews we did not collect, and we do not list a firm from a phone number or a marketplace profile alone.
