Composite decking questions

How much does composite decking cost fitted?
Supplied and fitted, typical UK ranges are £100 to £220 per m², frame and labour included. A 15 m² ground-level composite deck is usually £1,500 to £3,300; raised designs with steps and balustrades cost more.
Is composite decking better than timber?
It costs more up front and less over its life: no oiling or staining, no splinters, no rot, and most brands carry a 25-year warranty. Timber is cheaper to buy, easy to repair and can look better in a traditional garden if it is maintained.
Do I need a specialist to fit composite decking?
A competent landscaper or joiner can fit it, but composite moves with temperature and needs the right expansion gaps, joist spacing and fixings. A firm that names the board it uses and follows the maker's guide, or belongs to its installer scheme, is the safer choice.
